Currently, you can create videos on TikTok between 15 seconds and 60 seconds long, but the platform allows you to upload videos up to 3 minutes in a single file.
To find out how to make a TikTok video longer than 1 minute you must first create the video and save it to your gallery. If you do it with a non-TikTok app and you have a video file longer than one minute and less than three minutes you can upload it from TikTok. If you do it from TikTok you will have to make several videos and then join them into a single file with Google Photos or IMovie.
To upload a video longer than one minute to TikTok open the application and click on the + icon at the bottom right in the center. Then click on “Upload” and choose the video. By default, it will select 60 seconds. Drag the ends of the selection and stretch them until the whole video is marked. Now click “Next” and add the title and hashtags and publish it. Note that it will take a little bit longer to process.

How to make 3-minute tiktok videos
Now that you know how to make a TikTok video longer than 1 minute, here’s how to make 3-minute TikTok videos.
To record a 3-minute video in TikTok we are going to make three 60 second videos and then we are going to join them into a single 3-minute file. Open the app and click on the + icon. Then choose the duration of 60 seconds and after applying the effects you consider public each of the videos privately by choosing the option “Only me” on who can see this video.
Now let’s download the videos and save them in the phone gallery. Once published from TikTok click on “Me” and inside your profile click on the padlock icon on the right side. You will see your video grid. Within each of them click on the three dots and choose the option to save the video.
When you have all the videos saved in your gallery you have to merge them into a single file. From an Android device, you can join them from Google Photos. Just enter the app and in “Movies” click on “Create new movie”. Then you must choose the videos to join and finally save them in the gallery of your phone.
If you have an iOS device you can join videos with iMovie. Just open the app and click on the + symbol to add the first video, then repeat the action with the different videos, and when you have them all click on “Done”. The app will process the videos. Finally, export the video and save it in the gallery.
Now all that’s left is to upload it. Open TikTok and click on the + icon. Then click on “Upload” and choose the three-minute video. Finally, select everything and click on “Next” and then when you add the title click on “Publish”.
