In this article, we’ll show you the tricks for PS5 that you absolutely must know.

Increase DualSense autonomy

Capture 412

The new DualSense of PS5 is perhaps the real highlight of the new console from Sony, given the many features it presents. Unfortunately, all that glitters is not gold, as one of the weak points of this new controller is the autonomy; in fact, the average duration of a charge is 6 hours. Fortunately, through a special trick for PS5, you can bring the DualSense’s charge duration to about 10 hours.

To do this, you’ll have to go to the console’s Settings and open the Accessories menu. Then select the Controller item and from the screen that opens you can adjust the various settings of the device such as the brightness of the lights, the speaker volume, the intensity of the triggers, and so on, setting them to a minimum to increase the autonomy of the device.

Hide game spoilers

To avoid spoilers on a PS5 game through notifications from friends or official notifications from the game itself, you can disable them through some simple steps. Once you turn on your PS5 you’ll have to go to Settings and select the Saved Data and Games/App Settings item. Once you’re there, you’ll have to scroll down to the bottom of the menu until you find Spoiler Alerts. At this point, simply turn off the switch under Report Spoilers for Games.

Disable automatic screenshot capture

One of the new features on Sony’s next-gen console is the ability to take screenshots automatically when a trophy is won in a game. To disable automatic screenshot capture, simply go to your PS5’s dashboard and press and hold the PS button on your controller, then press the Triangle button and select the Settings item, denoted by the gear icon. At this point, you’ll have to find and select the Captures and Broadcasts menu, after which select the Trophies item and finally uncheck the Save Snapshots item of the trophy screen.

Performance mode or Graphics mode

On the new PS5 games it is possible to change the graphic settings to be adopted during the game sessions. The Sony video game platform lets you choose between two different modes: Resolution and Performance. Depending on the choice you make, the gaming experience will undergo a change, which in some cases is drastic. To adjust the various graphics settings for PS5 games, you’ll need to go to PS5’s Settings page, select Saved Data and Game/App Settings, open the Game Presets tab and then select either Performance Mode or Graphics Mode.

Resolution Mode pushes graphics to the max with an incredible increase in image detail thanks to the 4K UHD graphics engine and ray tracing that is always active. If, on the other hand, you want to have a fluidity of images that is out of the ordinary, what you’ll have to choose is undoubtedly Performance Mode, which will let you benefit from the best of 60 fps (120 fps on future titles).
