How the Poparazzi app works | Complete Guide

The world of social networks poparazzi is in constant turmoil, and despite the fact that the “big” players in the industry now have a dominant position, many new companies are trying to emerge by focusing on features and original ideas, looking for the favor of the public. In this regard, you’ve recently heard a lot about Poparazzi, a rather peculiar social network, in which it seems that friends manage many aspects of a user’s profile, and not the user himself.

How does Poparazzi app work then? What are its main mechanics? If you want to find out, keep reading: in this tutorial, I’ll analyze everything you need to know about this platform launched in 2021 and I’ll tell you how to take your first steps inside it.

If you’re ready to get to work, take a few minutes and put into practice the suggestions I’m about to give you: below you can find all the necessary information about the Poparazzi app. That said, there’s nothing left for me to do but wish you a lot of fun!

What is Poparazzi

Before going into detail about how the Poparazzi app works, I think you might be interested in learning more about this service.

Well, Poparazzi is a social network that tries to stand out in this crowded market, challenging giants like Facebook and Instagram, as well as newer apps like Clubhouse. In this sector, to at least try to turn on a “light bulb” it is necessary to focus on originality, and this is certainly not lacking in Poparazzi.

In fact, the “mechanism” of the social network is based on an idea as simple as univocal (at least at the time of its release): it is not the user who publishes what is on his profile, but his friends. In simple terms, it plays on the word “paparazzi”, only that the photos are taken by other people that the user knows, who will therefore have the task of “taking care” of his account.

Don’t worry: of course, there are security measures that prevent this possibility from being abused. For example, if some friend decides to post inappropriate photos on your profile, you will be able to choose whether to actually publish them or not: in short, you always have the permission of the owner of the profile.

Among other things, the identity of people who can publish on the profile of a user is verified by the social network and it will be the user himself to decide who to give the opportunity to perform the automatic upload of content on the profile that, for obvious reasons, should be granted only to a few people.

In short, on Poparazzi you will always have the last word: you will be able to remove the photos you no longer want on your profile, as well as possibly block people who have not behaved well. In any case, certainly, the method used by Poparazzi to manage the various accounts is interesting, also considering the fact that it tries to go beyond the classic selfie, focusing on photos taken by others.

How to download Poparazzi

Capture1 25

Having told you what it’s all about, I’d say it’s time to take action and show you how to download the official Poparazzi social network application.

Well, you should know that at the time of writing, the app is only available for iPhone and iPad. At the moment, there is no Android version of Poparazzi available, so please stay away from those who promise to get you the social network on the “green robot” operating system: they are often scammers who try to deliver malware to their victims’ devices.

So, to proceed and download Poparazzi, you have to open this page of the App Store directly from your iPhone or iPad, press the Get button and verify your identity with Face ID, Touch ID, or Apple ID password, then wait for the download and installation to finish (which will be done automatically). Alternatively, you can manually search for the app via the Search tab of the store.

Once the app is open, press the Get Started button to get started. You will then be asked to provide all the necessary permissions so that Poparazzi can work properly. More specifically, you’ll be asked to check the boxes for Camera, Contacts, and Notifications, then tap on Allow. The first permission is obviously useful for taking and uploading photos, the second is useful for finding your friends (and having them find you), and the third is for notifying you whenever a friend posts a photo related to you. Then press the Next button to move on.

At this point, you will be asked what your age is: type the required information and tap the Next button. Then, in order to continue the registration, you will have to enter your phone number, so as to verify your identity and register for the service.

Then enter the requested information and tap the Next button. You will then receive an SMS containing a confirmation code: type it into the app and press the Next button to continue. Next, type your first name and tap on the Next button. Then do the same with your last name and press the Next button.

Perfect, you’re almost there. As the last step of the registration you will be asked to create a username: type the one you prefer in the field provided and tap on the Next button. At this point, you can choose whether or not to add a photo to your profile. To do so, press the Add a Photo button and select an image from those on your device; alternatively, press the Skip button to skip this step.

Once you’ve gone through this step as well, you’ll be asked if you already want to choose 3 friends who can take photos for you. If you’ve chosen to allow the app to access your contacts, you’ll see some names at the bottom that you can select: simply tap the Invite button next to the various phone numbers to invite your friends to use Poparazzi.

If you don’t want to make this choice right away, just tap on Skip, located in the upper right corner, and confirm your choice. In any case, remember that Poparazzi is based, in fact, on connections with friends, as they will be the ones to publish photos on your profile. For this reason, the app will suggest several times to invite them to the social network.

The developers say that Poparazzi was also created to try to put “on the back burner” the pressure that people generally feel before uploading a photo to social networks. In fact, there are many who feel they have to “respect” a sort of “canon of beauty” that does not really exist but is simply the result of the continuous search for social approval promoted more or less consciously by certain social realities.

In short, it aims at a more conscious and healthy use of technology, while trying to “strengthen” the friendship with people close to you.

How Poparazzi app works

If you’ve followed the directions I provided in the previous chapter, you’re now ready to start using the official Poparazzi app. The latter has the main screen divided into 5 sections: below you can find all the relevant information related to each of them.

Feed

Capture3 18

The first section offered by the Poparazzi application is the one related to the feed, accessible by pressing the “P” icon, which is located at the bottom left.

Here you can see all the content uploaded to the social network that concerns the people you follow. In simple terms, this is the section where you can see everything about the posts published within Poparazzi.

For example, if you’ve chosen to follow a well-known star, this is where you’ll see all the photos and GIFs about them (uploaded by their friends, or content that that person has made for their friends). In simple terms, this section is similar to the Instagram feed, or the main page of the famous social network (although clearly with the necessary differences).

Then, in the top right corner, there is the Pop score, which is a statistic that simply keeps “track” of how many photos you have taken for your friends. This is a method of trying to “reward” those who take photos.

Explore

Capture4 14

Accessible through the magnifying glass icon in the bottom left corner, the Explore section clearly allows you to take a look at the content uploaded within the social network.

In fact, a search bar appears at the top, which you can use to find what you are interested in. A large part of the screen is instead occupied by content recommended by the algorithm, a bit like it happens on Instagram.

In short, this is the section to use to start following some profiles. Just type the name of the person involved, tap on the appropriate box and press the Follow button to start following that profile. Pay attention to the fact that, by following a profile, you automatically allow it to publish content related to you (you can actually remove the permission while continuing to follow an account, by going to the Allow pops from a section of the settings).

As you may have noticed, at the top there are various statistics related to the profile, from the number of posts to views, passing through the number of reactions, and the Top Poparazzi, that is, the people who chose to upload photos to that profile. At the bottom there are two sections that represent, respectively, the photos taken by the friends of the selected person and the photos taken by that person for his friends.

You can also upload a photo related to the person if you have one: just click on the Add Pop box at the bottom and upload. However, I clearly remind you that you can only do this if you have actually taken a photo of that person (also because then, if you are not among the “closest friends”, the other person will probably reject the upload).

If instead, you want to block a certain profile, you can do it by clicking on the three dots icon in the top right corner and then selecting the Block item from the menu that opens. There is also the Report option, to report a user in case of problems.

Pressing, instead, on content, you can put a heart, leave a reaction using some emoji of your choice or share the content via Snapchat, Instagram (Stories or Post), iMessage, or links. You can also choose to save the photo or make a report (in case of inappropriate content).

Snap

The central section of the official Poparazzi application, accessible via the camera icon, obviously allows you to take photos that will then appear on your friends’ profiles.

The interface is very simple: at the bottom is the shutter button, on the right is the flash button, and at the bottom left is the Gallery icon, to eventually select photos already taken to send. You’ll also be prompted to enter tags, so the social network will know who you’re “portraying”.

In short, it’s all very simple: then the publication will take place according to the methods chosen by the friend whose photo you are taking. If you are one of the “closest friends” the publication will be automatic, or you will have to wait for his approval.

In any case, Poparazzi also allows you to create GIFs: you just need to press the shutter button several times to create a GIF, as indicated by the application itself.

Activities

Capture5 14

The ever-present heart icon in the bottom right corner represents exactly what you think: it’s the activities tab.

Here you’ll find all the relevant notifications related to your account. In short, this is the section to keep an eye on when something related to your profile happens (for example, if a friend takes a photo related to you).

In any case, I remind you that, if you have decided to give permission during the configuration phase, you will receive “system” notifications from the app, which will then allow you to approve the various contents.

Profile

Moving to the last available section, or pressing the account icon in the bottom right corner, you can take a look at your profile.

At the top are all the statistics of the case, while in the center is the link to provide to others to reach your wall. At the bottom are all the contents related to you. I recommend that you press on the gear icon in the upper right corner to access more options.

From this screen, you can take a look at the users you follow, your followers, and blocked profiles. In addition, you can get assistance by pressing the Get Help option, as well as manage who can post to your profile via the Allow pops from the section.

From this screen, you can also evaluate the application and access the FAQ (answers to frequently asked questions), as well as log out of your account. If you want to unsubscribe from Poparazzi, however, you’ll have to do so from this link.

In short, now you know everything there is to know about Poparazzi: you just have to explore the social network and have fun!
