Before explaining how to return skins on Fortnite, I have to give you some useful preliminary information in this regard.
First of all, you should know that there are three refunds available for each account that allow you to return items purchased in the Fortnite Item Shop. You can use these three options to return items, such as costumes, in case you have second thoughts and get your V-Bucks refunded.
You should know, however, that only certain items can be returned. Among the categories of items purchased in the Item Shop that are eligible for a refund are: costumes, decorative backs, collection tools, hang gliders, contrails, loading screens, and emotes.
On the other hand, items that are disposable or that entitle you to additional experiences for your account, such as V-Bucks, Battle Passes, and their levels as well as Starter Packs, cannot be returned, as these are purchased with real money and therefore cannot be returned.
The Piñata Blade item from Save the World cannot be refunded either, as it belongs to the category of disposable items and also contains random rewards, so it cannot be returned.
In addition, weekly items and items from Save the World events are not subject to refund. Finally, more generally, all disposable items do not fall under Fortnite’s refund policies.
Also, you have to take into account that you can only return an item within 30 days of its purchase and, also, that once you run out of refunds you won’t be able to return additional items, as no additional refunds will be provided for your account. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to make well-considered purchases as refunds are limited.
Having said that, it’s time to explain in detail how to request a refund for items purchased in Fortnite; the operations that I’m going to show you can be done in the same way on all platforms in which the Epic Games game is available: the user interface is, in fact, the same on PC, consoles and mobile devices.
How to get your items refunded on Fornite
In order to send a refund request to Fortnite’s support team, the first thing you need to do is to start the popular Epic Games video game, in order to access the Lobby menu in the Battle Royal mode.
After that, press on the menu icon located in the top right corner and tap on the Settings item. Now, tap on the little man icon in the top menu to display the Account and Privacy section. After that, click on the item Submit a request, to see a list of all items purchased in the game in the last 30 days.
Then, find the item you want to return and for which you want a refund, then click on it to select it in the list. At this point, specify the reason for the refund, choosing between the items involuntary purchase, unauthorized purchase, or item not as intended.
After that, in the next screen, you can see the summary of the request for return, in which you will be reminded of the availability of only 3 returns per account. Therefore, to confirm the operation, first press the Send Return Request button and then if you are sure you want to ask for a refund since the request can not be canceled, give the final confirmation by pressing the Yes button.
At this point, if the request is accepted, you will be shown on screen the words Return Request Approved which will indicate the number of V-Bucks that have been credited to your account. Finally, press the OK button to return to the Settings screen and the Account and Privacy section.
