Yes, you may see contacts you don’t have in your address book on Telegram. This is due to its people nearby feature. Thanks to it, you can talk to people who are within walking distance of you. And, of course, we mean to establish a conversation with all the usual functions of this application, such as sending voice notes, images, and other types of formats.
To access the people nearby function, all you have to do is the following:
- Open the Telegram contact list.
- At the top, locate the Find people nearby option.
- Select a contact who is close to you and start talking to him.
You should know that this option is disabled by default. This means that no one will be able to find you unless you click on the Make me visible option. In that case, any user near you will be able to contact you. However, it is not a requirement to be visible to others to view people nearby in Telegram.
Also, note that the maximum radius of this feature is 10 kilometers, according to our tests. Users outside that radius will not be visible. It is also important that you configure the privacy options correctly so that others do not access sensitive personal information in case you select the Make me visible option.
Oh, and by the way. It also works with groups. If the people participating in a group are close users, you will be able to access them without too much hassle. Obviously, this feature must be enabled in the group settings.
How to block contacts in Telegram
Blocking a contact in Telegram can be done quickly and easily.
