What to do if Wyze Cam cannot find specified network name – Best Solution

The internet is increasingly becoming a very fundamental part of human Wyze cam life. Any tech enthusiast will be happy to share how they connect everything in their home to voice control, from the refrigerator to the coffee machine and even the windows. It’s also easier than ever to keep an eye on all these high-tech devices thanks to clever smart cameras like the Wyze Cam.

Such a camera works fine out of its boxes; however, either because of a problematic update or a simple bug, you may not be able to connect your device to a Wi-Fi network. This is nothing to worry about, as even a phone can have problems connecting to a Wi-Fi network. That is why today we will tell you how you can solve this problem.

Which versions of Wyze Cam do not find the specified network name?

Currently, there are no specific versions of Wyze Cam that do not find the network name, since it is a problem that can occur in any model, and many times it is even due to a bad connection.

How to solve when Wyze Cam cannot find a specified network name?

You have to remember that to use a Wyze Cam, you need an application to connect it to a wifi, such application you can find it both in the Play Store and the App Store.

Remember to always have the latest update of it, as this may be one of the reasons why the camera does not recognize the wifi network; however, there are many other reasons that may be originating this inconvenience and below we will let you how you can solve it.

Verify that you are connected to the correct network

Nowadays most modern routers provide two wifi signals simultaneously, one of them with 2.4 GHz bandwidth and the other with 5 GHz bandwidth. 2.4. For several years most devices have been using the latter signal as standard.

And this is because it can reach farther, as the signal will be stronger and over much longer distances. In the case of the 5 GHz signal, it is much faster, but the signal tends to be a little bit bad while the distance is much farther

Many times Wyze Cam cameras automatically connect to the router’s 5 GHz network instead of 2.4 GHz. So we recommend that you check the network services you have at home, and check if it has ‘5 ‘ or also ‘5 GHz’ at the end.

If so, this may be the cause of the problem. Then to solve it go to the Wyze application, and verify that the camera is connected to 2.4 GHz, most likely this alone will solve the problem.

Check the spelling of the network name

Another option for which the Wyze camera does not connect to the wifi network, is because you are misspelling its password, that is why you have to verify that both the name and the password are spelled correctly. Remember that passwords are case sensitive.

It can also happen that the problem is caused by a space in the name, either at the beginning or at the end. And that is why the camera does not connect. So watch out for this. To fix it, just go to the application delete the wifi network and type it again but carefully so as not to make any mistake.

What to do when Wyze Cam continues not to find the specified network name?

If for some reason Wyze Cam continues not to find the specified network name, then you can try to move the camera a little closer to the router, this is not a solution as such, because if you want to place the camera somewhere else then you will not be able to do it, but at least it will help you to find out if it can connect to the network or not.

If it does connect then the problem may be with the range of your router, and as mentioned above you should change the network you are using. If, on the other hand, the problem remains the same, do the following:

Reset your device

With type many electronic devices, they can start to fail, and so in this case, resetting them or simply rebooting them will clear many errors in the system. So turn off your router for about 20 seconds and then turn it back on.

Then on your personal phone go to the internet settings and press on forget wifi network, then reset it and again connect to the wifi network. As we have already mentioned, for everything to go smoothly make sure you are connected to the 2.4 GHz network.

Finally, if you have tried all the above mentioned methods and still the Wyze camera is still unable to find the network name, i.e. not connecting.

Then we have some bad news for you, the problem may be in the camera hardware. Then you can contact Wyze customer service and tell them about your problem so they can help you solve it. In extreme cases, take it to a technician who repairs these types of devices.
